Finish Carpenter

About the role

We are seeking a finish carpenter to work on various commercial and residential construction projects in Surrey, BC. The role involves reading blueprints, preparing layouts, and installing finish elements such as windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Instruct apprentices, supervise other workers and estimate costs and materials.

Required profile

• Client focus and reliability.
• Team player with strong values and ethics.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in finish carpentry.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Measuring and layout preparation.
• Wood cutting, shaping and assembly.
• Installation of windows, doors, stairs and mouldings.
• Cost and material estimation.
