About the role
The Manitoba Government is hiring a Financial Worker (Service Centre Agent) to join the Department of Families in Winnipeg. In this full‑time position you will provide income assistance support to clients, handling inquiries and processing benefits in accordance with provincial legislation.
Key responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls from clients, the public and community agencies while maintaining confidentiality.
- Gather required information, respond to inquiries and explain eligibility guidelines.
- Calculate, process and issue benefits under the Manitoba Assistance Act and Disability Support Act.
- Review, recommend and authorize expenditures for special needs and medical travel.
- Enter electronic data for client budgets, process payments and perform related clerical duties.
Required profile
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to assess client needs and direct them to appropriate resources.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to policy.
