Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead the finance function for two Canadian aerospace manufacturing companies, CFN Precision in Vaughan, Ontario and Tecnickrome Aeronautique in Montreal, Quebec. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage all accounting and financial activities across both entities and work closely with operations, supply chain, sales and HR.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for both entities, including general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close, account reconciliations and consolidation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under ASPE and IFRS (including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16) with variance analysis and commentary.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight and inter‑company transactions.
• Lead the annual external audit, acting as primary liaison with auditors, banks and tax advisors.
• Maintain and improve standard costing, inventory valuation, work‑in‑process tracking and margin analysis for machining and processing operations.
• Analyze job profitability, scrap, labour and overhead absorption to support pricing and quoting decisions.
• Partner with operations on capital‑expenditure evaluation, equipment justification and SR&ED claim support.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management, including a weekly rolling 13‑week cash‑flow forecast and working‑capital monitoring.

Required profile

• Hands‑on finance professional with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Experience in manufacturing or aerospace finance environments.
• Proven ability to manage full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting.
• Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and ownership.
