Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead our finance operations and ensure the accuracy of financial statements, the efficiency of accounting processes, and the robustness of internal controls. This senior position works closely with finance and operations teams to drive financial excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Lead monthly and annual close processes, preparing financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure Canadian tax compliance (GST/QST, payroll remittances, CNESST, T4/RL‑1) and coordinate external audits.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial forecasts.
• Participate in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic projects with the VP of Finance.
• Implement and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and ERP tools.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team.
• Drive automation and optimization of financial systems.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including management responsibilities.
• Strong background in financial close, external audits, and Canadian tax compliance.
• Knowledge of IFRS or ASPE standards and internal controls.
• Leadership, autonomy, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as Business Central or NetSuite.
• Familiarity with payroll platforms like Nethris or ADP.
• Understanding of IFRS and ASPE accounting standards.
