Field Sales Manager - Independent Retail - North Bay

About the role

The Field Sales Manager will lead a team of sales representatives to achieve sales volume and distribution goals for independent retail locations in the North Bay area. This full‑time position focuses on coaching, performance management, and customer relationship development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coach a team of sales representatives, conducting one‑on‑one meetings to set objectives and review performance.
• Develop performance enhancement plans, conduct evaluations, and monitor 90‑day reviews for new hires.
• Identify skill gaps and create customized coaching plans to improve sales effectiveness.
• Pre‑plan sales periods with representatives, set target accounts, and define strategies to meet goals.
• Participate in interview and selection processes, collaborating with HR on candidate sourcing and onboarding.
• Maintain key account relationships, conduct business reviews, open new accounts, and resolve customer complaints.
• Coordinate supplier surveys and ride‑withs, planning routes and scheduling sales activities.
• Resolve customer issues following company policies and escalate when necessary.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in retail or field sales.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a results‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to multitask, work independently or within a team, and pay close attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Office and presentation software.
