Farrowing Technician

About the role

Hadren Farms Ltd. is a small family‑owned operation in the Strathroy‑Caradoc area that recently opened an early‑wean sow barn. We are seeking a dedicated Farrowing Technician to join our close‑knit team, primarily working with farrowing sows while also supporting breeding and other barn tasks as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Feed and care for farrowing sows.
• Monitor farrowings and provide assistance throughout the process.
• Treat sows and piglets, making fostering decisions and ensuring overall piglet health.
• Feed, breed, vaccinate, and relocate sows according to schedule.
• Process piglets, assess their health, and administer treatments when required.
• Wean piglets and prepare them for shipment.

Required profile

• Reliable vehicle for commuting to the barn outside of Strathroy.
• Minimum high school diploma.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail.
• Basic math skills and ability to make daily decisions with team guidance.
• Passion for working with animals and commitment to their welfare.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a small team.

• Competitive hourly wage of $23‑$25 CAD, based on experience.
