Facilities Manager, Academic Learning Spaces

About the role

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia is seeking a Facilities Manager for Academic Learning Spaces. This role provides day‑to‑day operational support for a large portfolio of teaching and learning environments, including video‑conferencing rooms, clinical skills labs, libraries and study areas across university and health‑authority sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of over 150 VC rooms, 175 non‑VC rooms and additional shared learning spaces.
• Coordinate maintenance, renovations, relocations and capital construction projects.
• Liaise with faculty, department administrators, health authorities, external consultants, engineers, architects and contractors.
• Collaborate with UBC service units such as Building Operations, Facilities Planning, Project Services, Access & Security, and Safety & Risk Services.
• Ensure facilities meet the spatial and infrastructural requirements of academic and research programs.

Required profile

• Full job knowledge, qualifications and experience appropriate for a Level C salaried position.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
