About the role

The Gwich’in Renewable Resources Board (GRRB) is seeking a motivated leader to serve as Executive Director. This senior role oversees daily operations, human resources, and financial stewardship for a board that co‑manages wildlife, fish, and forest resources in the Gwich’in Settlement Area.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily Board operations and supervise staff.
• Oversee human‑resource functions including recruitment, performance management, and supervision.
• Administer an operating budget of approximately CAD 1.5 million and manage the Wildlife Studies Fund (CAD 3 million) with investment managers.
• Maintain respectful relationships with co‑management partners and ensure compliance with annual reporting requirements.
• Pursue additional funding, manage financial contribution agreements, and allocate project funds from the Wildlife Studies Fund.
• Organise Board meetings (two face‑to‑face and four teleconferences per year) and sub‑committee meetings, ensuring accurate minutes and briefing documents.
• Implement Board decisions through staff work plans and provide advice to Board members as needed.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in biology or administration (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with financial management, including funding proposals, budget development, and reporting.
