Event Server - Village Loft

About the role

Village Loft, a newly renovated event venue in Bayview Village, North York, is looking for full-time Event Servers. Servers play a key role in running special events: they help with setup and breakdown, serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally, and keep the event space clean and organized. The venue hosts corporate functions, cocktail receptions, bar and bat mitzvahs and weddings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with event setup and breakdown so the venue is ready for guests.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally throughout the event.
• Clear plates, glassware and cutlery to keep the area clean.
• Follow service standards and steps of service to give an exceptional guest experience.
• Know the menu well enough to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Monitor food presentation and quality, and enter orders accurately into the POS system if applicable.
• Keep your section tidy and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Watch for guest allergies or special requests and tell the team.
• Complete opening, closing and side duties safely and support the team with other tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of serving or banquet experience (preferred).
• Smart Serve certification (required).
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
