Evening Service Worker – Campus Facilities

About the role

The Evening Service Worker joins UBC Building Operations to keep the Point Grey campus clean, safe, and ready for evening activities. Working the 3‑11 pm shift, you will support students, staff, and visitors by delivering high‑quality custodial services.

Key responsibilities

• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and polish floors and surfaces across offices, classrooms, labs, and common areas.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, request replenishments, and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Clean interior and exterior windows, glass, shades, and blinds.
• Collect and dispose of garbage, empty waste receptacles, and manage recycling.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, report repairs, and assist with building security incidents.
• Set up and rearrange furniture for events, exams, and ceremonies.
• Clear sidewalks and snow as needed.

Required profile

• Reliable attendance for the evening shift (3‑11 pm).
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical capability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.

Required skills

• Operation of light‑ and heavy‑duty cleaning equipment.
