About the role

Royal Flavours is seeking an experienced cook specialized in ethnic foods to join its restaurant in Scarborough. The role focuses on preparing South Indian vegetarian dishes while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Plan menus and estimate food requirements for ethnic dishes.
• Prepare and cook complete meals, including dishes for customers with allergies or intolerances.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory records of food, supplies and equipment.
• Organize buffets and banquets and keep work areas clean.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a cook in a restaurant setting.
• College, CEGEP or equivalent 1‑2 year culinary certificate.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Pass criminal record check and medical examination.
• Own transportation for commuting.

Required skills

• Cook Trade Certification.
• Safe Food Handling certificate.
• Food Safety certificate.
• Proficiency in South Indian vegetarian cuisine.
