Environmental Engineer Co-op Internship

About the role
This co‑op/internship offers hands‑on experience working with Gerdau's Environmental and Safety Teams. You will support the development and management of environmental procedures while gaining exposure to safety orientations and project work.
Key responsibilities
- Update and manage environmental procedures, including spill response and waste/recycling protocols.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and assist with internal audits.
- Manage smaller environmental and safety projects and conduct safety orientations.
Required profile
- At least two years completed in a Biosystems or Engineering degree with a focus on Environmental Science.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 (3.0 preferred) and a record of academic achievement.
- Leadership experience in student organizations or extracurricular activities.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
Required skills
- Proficiency in preparing PowerPoint presentations.
- Ability to update procedural documents and manage project tasks.
