Engineering Manager – Marine & Ports (Hybrid)

About the role

ABB is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team delivering innovative solutions for the Marine & Ports business. The role combines technical leadership, people management and project execution, and is offered on a hybrid basis in either Houston, TX or the Vancouver/Coquitlam area in Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineers and designers to deliver cost‑effective, high‑quality solutions.
• Drive performance across functional safety, cybersecurity, quality, margin improvement and on‑time delivery.
• Ensure projects follow best‑practice execution standards and meet contractual requirements.
• Champion continuous‑improvement initiatives and agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead times.
• Oversee multiple priorities while strengthening engineering capability and team development.
• Act as technical lead on selected projects and support strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Naval Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering leadership or a comparable technical environment.
• Proven ability to balance technical execution with commercial project delivery.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, automation systems and engineering operations.
