Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing Mechanical Engineering team in Oakville, Ontario. This hands‑on leader will drive technical excellence, mentor staff, and shape the strategic growth of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Manage workloads, project assignments, performance reviews and professional development.
• Provide technical guidance on mechanical system design for buildings and infrastructure.
• Review and stamp mechanical drawings, specifications and reports to ensure code compliance.
• Oversee project delivery from concept to completion, coordinating with cross‑functional teams and clients.
• Conduct on‑site visits, surveys and condition assessments as required.
• Build strong relationships with clients, municipalities and partner firms.
• Support business development, proposal preparation and identify new opportunities.
• Contribute to department planning, budgeting, quality control and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and P.Eng. designation.
• 7–10+ years of mechanical design experience in building systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection).
• Prior experience leading teams or projects in a consulting engineering environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for site work.
