Engineering Manager

About the role

Northern Cables Inc., a leading North American supplier of commercial and industrial power cables, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering and maintenance across its three manufacturing sites in Eastern Ontario. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and part of the senior leadership team, you will be the primary driver of capital projects, equipment reliability and technical execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and maintenance personnel across three facilities.
• Own the delivery of capital projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget completion.
• Oversee equipment installation, commissioning and ongoing reliability programs.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and plant support activities.
• Align engineering priorities with operational needs and act as the technical liaison between engineering, operations and sales.
• Maintain a strong, hands‑on presence on the plant floor to troubleshoot issues and guide decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
• Ability to manage complex, multi‑site projects and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior leadership and front‑line staff.
