Engineer I – Product Development

About the role

Mevotech is seeking an Engineer I to join the Product Development team focused on hub bearing technology. The role involves creating detailed and conceptual designs, driving innovation, and leading failure analysis to continuously improve product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead root‑cause investigations on warranty returns and field failures.
• Identify failure modes, design weaknesses, and systemic issues, then translate findings into design upgrades and material changes.
• Drive R&D initiatives to advance wheel hub bearing technology, evaluate emerging concepts, and conduct competitive benchmarking.
• Own development of detailed specifications and conceptual designs from early stage through release, ensuring performance, durability, and manufacturability.
• Create and manage 2D/3D CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent tools.
• Ensure designs comply with APQP requirements and maintain critical engineering documentation such as DFMEA, DVP&R, and EDRs.
• Partner with global manufacturers to translate designs into high‑performing products, resolve technical challenges, and support supplier onboarding.
• Elevate engineering capability by improving design standards and standardizing documentation.

Required profile

• Experience conducting failure analysis and root‑cause investigations.
• Proven ability to develop detailed specifications and conceptual designs for mechanical products.
• Familiarity with APQP processes and creation of DFMEA, DVP&R, and EDR documentation.
• Hands‑on experience collaborating with manufacturing partners and suppliers.
