Emergency Physician (Full‑time)

About the role

Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) are seeking full‑time Emergency Physicians to join the Columbia Emergency Physicians Association. The position involves providing high‑acuity emergency care across two busy, university‑affiliated hospitals serving the Fraser Health region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to adult and pediatric patients in a high‑volume setting.
• Participate in trauma resuscitations and manage complex cases, including geriatric emergencies.
• Teach and supervise UBC medical students, residents, and fellows during clinical shifts.
• Contribute to research, quality‑improvement projects, and departmental leadership initiatives.
• Engage in simulation training and educational activities as needed.

Required profile

• Board certification in CCFP(EM) or FRCPC(EM); ABEM certification is also acceptable.
• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Current or recent (within 5 years) PALS or APLS certification.
• Experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency department, preferably with trauma and pediatric exposure.
• Interest in research, education, quality improvement, or leadership.

Required skills

• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or equivalent trauma certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS).
• Proficiency in emergency medicine clinical protocols and procedures.
