About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The 24/7 emergency department sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a diverse case mix and ample procedural experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a broad patient population.
• Collaborate with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry specialists.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Contribute to the evolving services of the newly redeveloped hospital, including expanded ED treatment spaces.

Required profile

• Current certification in CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Willingness to work in a community hospital setting and engage in teaching.
• Interest in professional growth and potential leadership roles.

Required skills

• Clinical competence in emergency medicine.
• Ability to manage acute and complex cases.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
