Emergency Medicine Physician – Royal Inland Hospital

About the role

The Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, British Columbia, is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians to join a dynamic, collegial team of 32 providers. The department handles roughly 75,000 visits annually and serves as the third‑busiest trauma centre in the province, offering a high‑acuity, teaching‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population, including trauma and critical‑care cases.
• Work 14 shifts per month across the APP emergency program and the MOCAP Trauma Team Leader (TTL) program.
• Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and junior staff during clinical rotations.
• Participate in monthly journal clubs, quality rounds, and trauma rounds to maintain current practice standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists across cardiology, neurology, oncology, and other services.

Required profile

• Medical degree and board certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility for licensure to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Experience in high‑volume, high‑acuity emergency departments preferred.
• Ability to work full‑time or part‑time within a team‑oriented culture.
