The York Region District School Board is seeking a dedicated Elementary Long Term Occasional (LTO) teacher for a Grade 2 homeroom. This position offers a challenging and rewarding career in public education, supporting student success and contributing to a vibrant learning community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Grade 2 curriculum aligned with provincial standards.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student outcomes.
• Participate in school events, parent communication, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or in the process of obtaining certification before the start date.
• Provide at least three professional teaching references (or two for internal candidates, one of which must be a YRDSB administrator).
• Successful completion of a satisfactory police record check.
• Commitment to the values and mission of the York Region District School Board.
