About the role

The York Region District School Board is seeking an elementary teacher for a Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) position, 50% FTE, to teach a Grade 7 homeroom during the morning shift. This role supports the Board’s commitment to student success and offers a rewarding environment for educators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Grade 7 homeroom instruction in the morning schedule.
• Support student learning and achievement in line with YRDSB policies.
• Collaborate with fellow staff and administrators to maintain a positive school climate.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or in the process of becoming qualified before the start date.
• Provide at least three professional teaching references (full name, title, organization, email) for external candidates; internal candidates must include two references, one of which must be a YRDSB administrator.
• Successful candidates must pass a satisfactory police record check.

• Salary range (A1‑A2 steps): $57,269 – $102,938; (A3‑A4 steps): $63,855 – $120,384 (CAD per year).
