Elementary Grade 5 Long Term Occasional Teacher (LTO)

About the role

The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified Elementary Grade 5 teacher for a Long Term Occasional (LTO) 100% homeroom position. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support student success in a public school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess the Grade 5 curriculum in a homeroom setting.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators and support staff to enhance student learning.
• Participate in school-wide events, meetings and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or in the process of becoming qualified before the start date.
• Provide at least three professional teaching references (or two for internal candidates, one of which must be a YRDSB administrator).
• Successful completion of a satisfactory police record check.
• Compliance with the ETFO Elementary Teacher Collective Agreement regarding salary and employment conditions.
