About the role
The Education Manager will lead and coordinate educational programs for a First Nations community in the Fraser Valley. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures that all services align with community priorities, cultural values, and the Nation’s educational goals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for all education programs and services.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate initiatives that support student success.
- Collaborate with community leaders, families, schools, post‑secondary institutions, and external partners.
- Support delivery of culturally appropriate education programs.
- Oversee education budgets, funding agreements, and reporting requirements.
- Manage relationships with local school districts, educational partners, and government agencies.
- Support learners from early childhood through post‑secondary education.
- Mentor education staff and program coordinators.
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor outcomes, identify improvement opportunities, and prepare reports for leadership.
- Advocate for the educational needs of community members and promote student engagement, retention, and achievement.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education in Education, Indigenous Studies, Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in education, community services, or Indigenous education.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and understanding Indigenous education priorities (highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of educational programming, funding structures, and community‑based services.
- Proven experience managing programs, budgets, and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership and team‑management abilities.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse groups, including students, families, educators, and community members.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
