About the role
We are seeking an Editorial Research Journalist to work remotely on a contract basis. You will be responsible for uncovering, developing, and delivering high‑quality news stories and feature pieces for a diverse audience.
Key responsibilities
- Research, pitch, and develop original news stories, features, and in‑depth articles.
- Conduct interviews, gather firsthand insights, and verify facts using authoritative sources.
- Create clear, compelling, and accurate written content tailored to diverse audiences.
- Edit and proofread articles to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards.
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and other journalists to enhance content quality.
- Monitor current events, trends, and issues relevant to assigned beats.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a journalist with a strong portfolio of published work.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in conducting interviews and synthesizing complex information.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
- High degree of curiosity, initiative, and critical thinking.
- Solid understanding of media law, ethics, and best practices.
