Early Childhood Educator (On-Call/Casual)

About the role
The Early Childhood Educator provides safe, quality, and culturally responsive care for children in the Daycare program, integrating Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ traditions into daily activities.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver culturally appropriate daycare curriculum and daily programming.
- Guide children’s behaviour using positive reinforcement and culturally relevant practices.
- Maintain daily communication with families and encourage parent participation.
- Supervise children to ensure health, safety and compliance with licensing standards.
- Report accidents, injuries, illnesses, or suspected abuse according to centre policy.
Required profile
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education with a current licence to practice.
- Current First Aid and Food Safe certifications, up‑to‑date immunisations and a clear TB test.
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence and satisfactory vulnerable‑sector criminal record check.
- 2–3 years of experience working with infants, toddlers or preschool‑aged children, preferably in an Indigenous‑focused setting.
