Drywall Installer

About the role

Sai Construction Ltd. is looking for a reliable Drywall Installer to join our team in Surrey, BC on a permanent, full‑time basis. You will work on residential and commercial projects in a dusty, noisy environment, reading blueprints and installing drywall systems from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, fit and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs.
• Apply successive coats of joint compound, sand seams and embed tape using a taping machine.
• Install metal corner beads, steel studs, and suspended metal ceiling grids.
• Install acoustic ceiling tiles and hangers for suspended ceilings.
• Prepare wall and ceiling layouts and create decorative designs in the finish coat when required.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of drywall installation experience.
• Ability to work in a dusty and noisy construction site.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Measuring and cutting drywall sheets.
• Installing metal studs and corner beads.
• Applying and sanding joint compound.
• Taping drywall joints.
• Installing acoustic ceiling tiles.
