Dispatcher – Non‑Emergency Patient Transport

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized Dispatcher to manage the scheduling and dispatch of crew members for non‑emergency patient transport across Winnipeg and surrounding areas. The role serves as the main communication hub between clients, drivers, medical escorts and internal teams, ensuring safe and timely transportation for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch field units, medical escorts and personnel to ensure fast, safe and efficient service delivery.
• Receive, assess and book ride and transfer requests from multiple sources (email, telephone, fax) including hospitals, long‑term care facilities and private residences.
• Prioritize requests based on urgency and allocate appropriate resources using a computer‑assisted dispatch system.
• Maintain clear, real‑time communication with the dispatch team, drivers and the Director of Field Operations.
• Document operational activity, incidents, delays and specialized transfers for reporting to leadership.
• Adhere to policies on patient confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, and maintain a clean workstation.
