Dispatch Coordinator – Wood Logistics

About the role

As a Dispatch Coordinator for the wood division, you will manage daily truck scheduling and ensure seamless transportation of inbound and outbound wood shipments. You will act as the central point of contact between customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams to guarantee timely deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule truck transportation for inbound and outbound wood shipments.
• Source, negotiate, and book qualified carriers to meet shipping requirements.
• Monitor shipment status from pickup to delivery and proactively resolve service issues.
• Maintain regular communication with drivers, carriers, customers, and warehouse personnel.
• Track and update internal records, resolve delays, and handle delivery exceptions.
• Monitor carrier performance and nurture strong carrier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
• Assist with freight quoting, capacity planning, and logistics reporting.

Required profile

• College degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field (preferred).
• 1–2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, freight brokerage, or supply‑chain operations.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Required skills

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and load boards.
• Proficiency in logistics software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
