Dishwasher - Bridgette Bar

About the role

Bridgette Bar, a chef-driven bar in Toronto run by Oliver & Bonacini, is looking for a dishwasher who reports to the Head Chef. The role keeps the kitchen and food service supplied with clean dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans and cooking equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Keep a clean and sanitary stock of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans and cooking equipment available for kitchen and food service.
• Sort, stack and load dirty dishware into dish racks in an organized way to maximize machine capacity and reduce breakage.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and in a controlled manner.
• Unload dishware and distribute and store it in designated areas.
• Maintain communication with all departments affecting the kitchen and help kitchen staff with food prep when directed.
• Ensure the highest level of hygiene and food safety is followed according to the restaurant's standards.
• Keep the dishwashing area and equipment at the highest level of cleanliness.
• Conduct yourself professionally and positively, and help maintain or exceed department objectives.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• No previous experience required.
• Working-level English communication skills and the ability to build relationships with management and team members.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in difficult or stressful situations.
• Able to stand for long periods (full shift) and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Partial time or full time availability.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Required skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• WHMIS certification and Food Safe certification are an asset.
