Director, Strategy, Risk and Business Operations

About the role

Join EQ Bank’s Reverse Mortgage and Insurance Lending business as a senior leader responsible for strategy, risk management, business performance and operational transformation, reporting directly to the VP, Decumulation.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of the annual business strategy, operating plan and growth priorities for the Reverse Mortgage business.
• Own business performance management, including KPI development, executive dashboards, forecasting and financial modeling.
• Lead risk management activities across credit, operational, compliance, legal, conduct and reputational risk, acting as primary liaison with corporate risk functions.
• Oversee portfolio analytics, stress testing, LTV model governance and scenario analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Prepare Board, Executive Committee and regulatory reporting packages with data‑driven insights.
• Drive cross‑functional transformation initiatives, governance frameworks and AI adoption to improve scale and efficiency.
• Lead new product evaluation, business case development and governance to meet profitability and regulatory objectives.
• Manage and develop a high‑performing team responsible for strategy, risk, analytics and business operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, risk management, finance or consulting within financial services.
• Deep understanding of credit, operational, compliance risk and regulatory environments.
• Proven experience preparing Executive Committee, Board and Risk Committee materials.
• Strong analytical ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influence with senior executives.
