Director, Scheduling

About the role

The Director, Scheduling provides strategic leadership and governance for all scheduling activities across shipbuilding and ship‑repair programs. You will ensure that integrated, risk‑informed schedules serve as key management tools to drive on‑time, efficient project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise scheduling strategy, standards, methodologies, tools, and governance.
• Maintain schedule integrity, consistency, and compliance with contractual commitments and project maturity.
• Provide executive oversight of program and project schedules, including milestones, critical paths, interfaces, and recovery plans.
• Assess schedule performance, trends, and risks at the portfolio level and present actionable recommendations to senior management.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to measure schedule health, predictability, and delivery performance.
• Oversee evaluation of schedule impacts from changes, delays, claims, and replanning activities.
• Lead, develop, and succession‑plan the scheduling organization, attracting and retaining senior scheduling talent.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of progressive experience in project controls, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Significant experience supporting large‑scale shipbuilding or ship‑repair projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost‑control methodologies aligned with AACEI and PMI (PMBOK) standards.
• Understanding of Earned Value Measurement (EVM – ANSI/EIA‑748‑B) in engineering, procurement, and construction.
