Director of Advancement and Alumni Engagement

About the role

The inaugural Director of Advancement and Alumni Engagement will lead Renison University College’s advancement strategy, overseeing fundraising, alumni relations, donor stewardship, and campaign development to support the One Renison Capital Campaign and other institutional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for fundraising, alumni engagement, and campaign planning, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
• Lead the One Renison Capital Campaign, expanding residence capacity and modernizing campus infrastructure.
• Strengthen the major gift pipeline, cultivate donor relationships, and develop compelling fundraising strategies.
• Build and manage a high‑performing advancement team, overseeing communications, stewardship programs, and donor management systems.
• Serve as an ambassador for Renison, fostering a culture of philanthropy among donors, alumni, volunteers, and community partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree and CFRE designation preferred.
• Significant progressive experience in fundraising and advancement, including major gifts, legacy giving, donor stewardship, foundation relations, and campaign leadership, ideally in the post‑secondary sector.
• Strategic, results‑oriented leader with strong understanding of donor strategy and pipeline development.
• Exceptional relationship‑building, communication, and team‑leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, adaptability, and ability to inspire confidence among stakeholders.
