Desktop Support / Endpoint Technician (Contract)

About the role

The Refresh Specialist is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of laptop assets within the organization. Working on‑site in Burnaby, the technician ensures out‑of‑warranty devices are collected promptly and replacement laptops are deployed with minimal disruption to daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate retrieval of out‑of‑warranty laptops from internal users and process them according to asset‑management policies.
• Prepare, configure, and deploy replacement laptops that meet organizational standards.
• Track warranty status, identify devices due for replacement, and maintain an accurate hardware inventory.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for team members throughout the refresh process, providing timelines and instructions.
• Perform data migration, backup, and secure wiping of retired devices in line with IT security and data‑governance policies.
• Document all refresh activities, including deployment schedules, asset logs, and status reports for leadership.
• Collaborate with IT support, procurement, and facilities teams to coordinate logistics and resolve issues.
