About the role
As a Design Manufacturing Engineer at INKAS®, you will create and refine engineered components, assemblies, and systems for heavy and military vehicles. The position supports the product lifecycle from concept through production, ensuring compliance with engineering, manufacturing, quality, safety, and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop components, sub‑assemblies, and complete systems for armored and specialty vehicles.
- Produce and update 2D drawings, 3D models, bills of materials, and related technical documentation.
- Support prototype builds, design validation, testing, and the release of designs to production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, program management, and supply‑chain teams.
- Assess design concepts for manufacturability, serviceability, durability, and cost effectiveness.
- Investigate and resolve design issues discovered during prototyping or production.
- Participate in design reviews, engineering change management, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and relevant industry regulations.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (additional degrees in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Process Design or Automation are assets).
- Minimum 5 years of engineering design experience in heavy‑vehicle or related manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and product requirements.
Required skills
- Proficiency with NX CAD software and associated documentation tools.
- Experience creating 2D drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials.
- Knowledge of prototype building, design validation, and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with engineering change management and root‑cause analysis.
