Design Developer 1 – Women’s Hike

About the role

As a Design Developer 1 on the Women’s Hike team, you will translate design concepts into functional, buildable garments. You will work closely with designers, pattern makers and product developers to create prototypes that meet Arc'teryx’s performance and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop pattern and sewing prototypes that align with the original design intent.
• Document construction processes to ensure scalability for bulk production.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create, test, and validate new concepts and techniques.
• Test materials for suitability with various construction methods and record results.
• Support seasonal projects and special initiatives as needed.
• Assist sample and design teams in problem solving and issue resolution.
• Compile project scopes and expenditures for eligibility in funding programs (SR&ED, IRAP, NRC, MITACS, etc.).

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a technical design environment, preferably apparel.
• Diploma or degree in Fashion Design or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong interest in outdoor apparel and sustainable design practices.
