Datacenter Technician (2-9 month contract)

About the role

The Datacenter Technician will work on‑site in Markham to install, configure, maintain and repair server hardware and related equipment in a live production environment. This short‑term contract supports critical infrastructure, helps minimise downtime and contributes to new AI‑focused hardware projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain servers, desktops and PCIe boards.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades and hardware repairs.
• Use DCIM tools to track and update assets by location and project.
• Provide technical support and end‑user training on hardware functionality and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT, site and customer teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Work safely in elevated or tight data‑center spaces, including ladder use and lifting equipment up to ~55 lbs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in IT, computer science or a related STEM field is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Center Technician in a production environment.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces and lift equipment up to 55 lbs.
• Commitment to safety protocols and industry standards.
