Data Engineer – Calgary, Canada

About the role

Infosys is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and operate advanced data pipelines that support conversational AI and contact‑center solutions. The role is based in Calgary and requires a candidate who can work on‑site, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑throughput, real‑time data services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement ETL flows for structured and unstructured data, ensuring normalization, deduplication and semantic consistency.
• Manage vector infrastructures such as pgvector, Azure AI Search and Redis, optimizing hybrid search layers.
• Develop event‑driven architectures using Kafka, Spark or Flink to continuously refresh embeddings and indexes.
• Implement zero‑trust data governance, privacy controls and compliance mechanisms within AI pipelines.
• Tune high‑throughput database systems and monitor performance for optimal read/write throughput.

Required profile

• Located within commuting distance of Calgary or willing to relocate.
• Authorized to work in Canada without employer‑based visa sponsorship.
• Minimum 4 years of IT experience, with at least 6 years of overall technology experience and 3 years in contact‑center or conversational AI architecture.
• Strong background in distributed data systems, SQL and orchestration tools.
