Data Developer II

About the role

Global Excel Management is looking for a Data Developer II in Sherbrooke, Quebec. You will design, implement and maintain the company's data infrastructure and systems, focusing on modern data technologies and cloud platforms, while mentoring developers and promoting data-centre best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes with Snowflake and Azure Data Services
• Build data solutions with DBT for transformation and Azure Data Factory for orchestration
• Translate business requirements into efficient data models that meet governance and architecture standards
• Use Azure Storage and other cloud services to optimise data management and scalability
• Automate data quality checks with tools such as DBT tests and enforce data governance policies
• Maintain data dictionaries, data lineage and metadata, and help define data standards and naming conventions

Required profile

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in computer engineering, mathematics, data science or a related field
• 4-6 years of professional experience in a related field
• Proven track record of cloud-based data architectures focused on scalability, security and cost-efficiency

Required skills

• Relational and NoSQL databases (MS SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MariaDB)
• Azure cloud platform and services (preferred); DBT, Azure Data Factory, Airflow or Informatica
• APIs and data integration strategies
• Certifications in Azure Data Services or Snowflake are a plus
