Data Analyst (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical, business‑focused Data Analyst to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and growth. This 6‑month fixed‑term position in Toronto will own end‑to‑end dashboard development, analytics projects, and data‑driven initiatives while partnering with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and improve business insight dashboards, acting as the primary liaison between business users and analytics/engineering teams.
• Lead analytics projects from scope to delivery, managing priorities, timelines, and ambiguous requests.
• Conduct complex ad‑hoc analysis using SQL for segmentation, cohort, funnel, and root‑cause studies.
• Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Build and enhance scalable Tableau dashboards for KPI tracking and business health monitoring.
• Communicate insights through storytelling and data visualization to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3–6 years of experience in Data or Business Analysis with increasing ownership.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and independent handling of ambiguous business problems.
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.

Required skills

• Expert‑level SQL (complex joins, window functions, CTEs, query optimization).
• Hands‑on experience with Tableau for production dashboards.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, large data sets).
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
