Cybersecurity Consultant – Platform Operations

About the role

Join TELUS Security’s Platform Operations team and help protect a large, converged network environment. You will work with a diverse group of cyber‑security professionals to operate and maintain critical security platforms across cloud, data, wireless and wireline networks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support and lifecycle management for security infrastructure, following established policies and procedures.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation and handle special events to keep critical security services available.
• Execute configuration changes during overnight maintenance windows and support incident response investigations.
• Lead assigned security portfolios while contributing to other technology areas.
• Conduct risk assessments, compliance checks, and collaborate with vendors such as Radware, Trend Micro, Netscout, Palo Alto and Juniper.
• Drive continuous improvement of the security posture through automation and monitoring.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma or certification with 3‑5 years of relevant experience.
• Professional security certifications (e.g., CCNA, CISSP) or equivalent.
• Intermediate knowledge of information security, networking, and command‑line interfaces.
• Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem‑solving skills and a commitment to continuous learning.

Required skills

• CCNA, CISSP or equivalent security certifications.
• Proficiency with command‑line interfaces and scripting languages.
• Network administration and network/application security.
• IPS and DDoS platforms (Radware, Netscout).
• Firewall platforms (Juniper, Palo Alto, CheckPoint).
• Data science, monitoring and logging tools.
• Experience with IAM solutions and email/web security technologies.
