Cyber Security Analyst – Remote Contract

About the role

Mercor is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join a remote, contract‑based team focused on AI‑driven security research. You will work independently and asynchronously, applying deep technical knowledge to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review AI‑related content for security vulnerabilities, emphasizing pattern recognition and classification.
• Leverage systems‑programming expertise to improve threat detection and reasoning within AI models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed group of domain experts.
• Design, solve, and review challenging, real‑world security problems.
• Maintain flexible hours to meet project milestones while delivering high‑quality results.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
• Familiarity with vulnerability classification frameworks such as OWASP or CVE.
• Solid understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, web security, and common attack vectors.
• Strong attention to detail and pattern‑recognition abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Residency in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
