Field Safety Advisor – Restoration Projects

About the role

The Total Group of Companies is seeking 6‑10 Field Safety Advisors to join restoration projects in the Toronto and Ottawa regions. You will work directly with site teams to ensure a safe, compliant, and organized environment on active project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Support site personnel in meeting OHS requirements and safe work practices.
• Identify, assess, and control hazards on‑site.
• Set up, inspect, and maintain safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Monitor work activities and exercise stop‑work authority when necessary.
• Report hazards, near‑misses, incidents, and injuries promptly.
• Deliver safety orientations and task‑specific training.
• Assist with air monitoring, confined‑space monitoring, respiratory protection, and rescue‑plan support as required.
• Maintain general site housekeeping and overall safety oversight.

Required profile

• Authorized to work in Canada, 19 years or older, with a valid driver’s licence and at least three years of driving experience.
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lb and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Willingness to travel between sites and pass pre‑access drug and alcohol testing.
• Previous experience in a safety role and strong knowledge of OH&S legislation and specialized PPE.
