Customer Service Attendant

About the role

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about providing amazing customer service while prioritizing safety and creating a positive environment on BC Ferries’ vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders from passengers and relay them to the galley.
• Portion and serve items from the steam table, including alcoholic beverages.
• Clear and clean tables, chairs, and passenger areas, and manage waste and recycling.
• Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and cleaning galley equipment.
• Maintain clean washrooms, restocking supplies and disinfecting surfaces.
• Prepare food service areas for opening and closing watches, and manage inventory.
• Provide passengers with information about ferry schedules.
• Participate in marine emergency drills, including passenger management and evacuation procedures.

Required profile

• Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a high‑volume, physically demanding environment.
• Excellent communication, self‑motivation, and teamwork under pressure.
• At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in food service.
• Valid Seafarer’s Medical, Food Safe Level 1 and Serving it Right certificates (or obtainable).
• Preference for Occupational First Aid Level 3 and/or Professional Cook Level 1 certifications.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and schedules.
