Culture & Language Integration Manager

About the role

The Culture & Language Integration Manager leads the Culture & Language Department, ensuring that Indigenous values, teachings, and language revitalization are embedded across programs, services, and organizational practices. Reporting to the Director of Culture and Caring, the role combines strategic leadership with day‑to‑day supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching and supervision to department staff, Elders and cultural knowledge keepers.
• Implement the Society’s culture and language integration strategy, aligning programs with nłeʔkepmx and syilx values.
• Develop, monitor and evaluate culturally grounded initiatives that support language revitalization, healing and community connection.
• Collaborate with Elders, member communities and internal teams to ensure cultural knowledge informs planning and service delivery.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Indigenous communities, cultural organisations, educational institutions and funding partners.
• Prepare operational plans, annual workplans, reports and budgets that reflect cultural and language priorities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Indigenous culture, language revitalization principles and cultural safety.
• Demonstrated experience with nłeʔkepmx and syilx traditional values, protocols and frameworks.
• Proven leadership, coaching and team‑development abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets and program outcomes.
• Clear criminal record check and valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence.
