Credit Representative

About the role

Saputo is hiring a Credit Representative in Saint-Laurent, reporting to the AR Manager. The role evaluates the overall company credit risk by assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing businesses. The position requires bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written.

Key responsibilities

• Process and evaluate daily credit applications, validating customer information, corporate documents, ownership relationships, registered addresses and financial data
• Analyze customer financial information at a national level, including historical internal data (DSO, AS400, MicroStrategy, credit hold reports) and commercial banking reports for public and private companies
• Review and analyze credit reports and financial and business data to make credit risk decisions or recommendations
• Support trade relationships with credit agencies
• Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly credit reports with evaluations and recommendations
• Establish and improve credit controls for existing customer accounts

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a commercial credit environment, having already made credit recommendations
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in Commerce) and/or Credit Certified Professional (CCP) designation, or in the process of obtaining it
• Bilingual (French and English) spoken and written, able to communicate with customers, sales and financial teams across Quebec and Canada

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong knowledge of Excel

• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
