About the role

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for ECSE 428 – Software Engineering Practice for the Fall 2026 term. This is a 3‑credit, non‑team‑taught course delivered on Mondays from 11:35 am to 2:25 pm in ENGMD 279.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lectures covering software engineering principles and practices.
  • Develop, approve, and update the course outline in collaboration with the Associate Chair (Academic).
  • Assess student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Provide timely feedback and support to students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain course records and comply with university academic policies.

Required profile

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
  • At least three years of university‑level teaching experience in software engineering.
  • Professional engineering licence in Canada (e.g., member of OIQ or PEO).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Understanding of cross‑cultural practices and a flexible teaching approach.
