About the role
The Department of Psychology at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach PSYC 444 – Sleep Mechanisms and Behaviour. This 3‑credit undergraduate course explores biological mechanisms of sleep, its functions, behavioural impacts, and related clinical topics. The position involves delivering lectures, guiding discussions, and evaluating student work.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver formal lectures covering basic biological mechanisms, functions, and behavioural aspects of sleep.
- Organise classroom discussions and supervise student presentations.
- Assess assignments, presentations, and research project reports.
- Supervise and support Teaching Assistants assigned to the course.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Psychology; PhD preferred.
- Prior university‑level teaching experience, preferably in psychology or related fields.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Proficiency in English communication, both spoken and written.
