Course Lecturer Positions – Fall 2026 – Music Department

About the role

The Department of Music Research at McGill University is hiring Course Lecturers for the Fall 2026 semester. Selected candidates will teach a range of undergraduate music courses, from basic conducting techniques to jazz ear training and audio for video post‑production.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assigned courses according to the university’s curriculum and schedule.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Rank and select preferred courses during the application process.
• Contribute to an inclusive learning environment that reflects the university’s equity and diversity commitments.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualifications and teaching experience in music or related fields.
• Ability to teach one or more of the listed courses (e.g., conducting, woodwind, brass, percussion, jazz ear training, musicianship, electronics, audio production).
