Course Lecturer – Introduction to the Study of Quebec

About the role
The McGill Institute for the Study of Canada seeks a Course Lecturer to teach QCST 200, Introduction to the Study of Quebec. This 3‑credit undergraduate course runs from August 31 to December 4, 2026, with weekly sessions in LEA 219.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive syllabus covering Quebec and Canadian history.
- Conduct lectures, lead discussions, and assess student performance through evaluations and assignments.
- Integrate multidisciplinary content and community‑engagement components into the curriculum.
- Coordinate guest speakers from diverse sectors and promote the Minor in Quebec Studies program.
- Maintain clear, accessible communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
Required profile
- Master’s degree (PhD preferred or ABD) in Quebec History or a closely related field.
- Recognized expertise in Quebec and Canadian history.
- University‑level teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to work onsite at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and to be authorized to work in Canada.
- Strong commitment to inclusive, student‑centered teaching.
