Course Lecturer for ANAT 316 Anatomy Lab

About the role

The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for the Winter 2027 term to teach the laboratory component of ANAT 316, an in‑depth regional human gross anatomy course for kinesiology students. The role involves leading cadaveric‑based lab sessions, supervising teaching assistants, and contributing to course planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead two weekly cadaveric‑based anatomy laboratory sessions for kinesiology students, guiding identification and interpretation of anatomical structures using prosections.
• Supervise and coordinate Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Undergraduate Course Assistants (UCAs) before and during lab activities.
• Support student learning through hands‑on teaching, active discussion, and reinforcement of laboratory safety and professional conduct.
• Assist with setup, implementation, and grading of assessments such as bell‑ringer examinations.
• Participate in course planning meetings, hold office hours, and provide academic support to students.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Anatomy or a related field; preference for candidates currently enrolled in a PhD program in Anatomy or a closely related discipline.
• At least two years of prosection‑based teaching experience in human gross anatomy.
• Demonstrated ability to teach in both English and French (written and verbal) is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
